Welcome

Denisa Prochazka is a Czech-Canadian artist living and working in Canada. Denisa attended York University and graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design. She continued her studies in Florence, Italy, where she advanced specializing in figurative sculpture.  She felt a deep connection to the Renaissance figurative art which has influenced and shaped the direction of her creative path today.

The endurance and permanence of traditional materials such as clay, bronze and stone is very attractive to her as an artist living and working in a fast paced computer world. Denisa's philosophy is to bring the positive, healing spiritual force through her work. The use of symbolism and icons drawn from historical and cultural backgrounds questions the spiritual void she feels in the art of our time.

"My goal is to explore and recreate symbolic images of the past consciousness and incorporate them into the present light. Symbolism has the power to transcend the physical into the spiritual realm. My work is an exploration of this journey."
